"Between stimulus and response there is a space.
In that space is our power to choose our response.
In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
-Viktor E. Frankl
What matters most is our loving, compassionate PRESENCE, here and now.
Diversity, Inclusivity, & Intersectionality
In our wonderfully diverse world, intersectionality (the interconnected nature of social categories such as race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.) is an essential consideration during counseling sessions. I deeply value diversity, inclusivity, and social justice. I vow to create an open, honest, just, inclusive environment during all of my counseling sessions and to continue educating myself in these areas. LGBTQIA individuals and BIPOC individuals are SAFE and CELEBRATED here.

All services are online over Zoom
Family, Parent, Couples, & Individual Counseling
I have experience counseling individuals, couples, and entire families through my graduate studies and post-graduate work.
I have 20 years of experience working with children and families as a teacher, tutor, behavior consultant, counselor, and parent, including helping families struggling with a wide variety of academic, emotional, and behavioral challenges and mental health diagnoses. If you, your partner, your children, and/or any other loved ones struggle with a mental health diagnosis or learning difference, sessions with me can facilitate increased understanding and healthier relationships!
Email Carrie@MindfulFamilyMentor.com to set up a free 15 minute consultation!
Small Group Counseling
(Maximum of 7 participants/group, Minimum of 3 participants/group)
Some folks prefer small group counseling with people who have similar challenges and concerns. At $50 per session, small group counseling is also less expensive per session than family, couples, and individual counseling.
I currently have waiting lists for all of my daytime groups. If you are interested in joining a group, email me at
Carrie@MindfulFamilyMentor.com to get on the waiting list and let me know:
a) your top 3 challenges/concerns
b) your top 3 weekly timeslot preferences
Once there are at least 3 people on a waiting list with the same challenges/concerns and timeslot preference I will create a new group!
Sessions are $150 per 50 minute session.
I do not take insurance at this time.
Book and pay for sessions using my Calendly page:

All sessions will be recorded via Zoom and emailed to client upon request. The fee for late cancellation (less than 24 hours) or no show is $50/session. All emails to Carrie@MindfulFamilyMentor.com will be answered within 48 hours barring unforeseen emergency circumstances.
THERAPEUTIC COURSES
Each Course includes course materials for every session (printed by client or printed by Carrie and mailed to client if requested at least 2 weeks ahead of time), free of charge! Please contact me at Carrie@MindfulFamilyMentor.com if you are interested!
Purejoy Parenting 8-week Intensive Course
8 sessions working with one or both parents
The ADHD Solution Deck was developed by Dr. Sharon Saline, PsyD, a clinical psychologist and author of the award-winning book, “What Your ADHD Child Wishes You Knew: Working Together to Empower Kids for Success in School and Life”. I used both resources in developing these collaborative activities for families to work through together in order to process an ADHD diagnosis and find solutions to common challenges that ADHD presents within families. It is my hope that collaboratively guiding parents through the ADHD Solution Deck and the accompanying activities designed for children ages 8-18 will help you and your family find the solutions and strategies you’ve been seeking.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Adults Course
16 sessions of individual counseling for adults struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, post traumatic stress syndrome, chronic stress, emotional reactivity, and/or negative thought patterns.
ADHD Solutions Course
Additional cost of purchasing the "ADHD Solutions Deck" by Dr. Sharon Saline, PsyD:
Link to Purchase
Requires at least one parent and their child age 8-18 diagnosed with ADHD to attend sessions. Ideally the whole family will attend!
"You’ve tried all the theories, heard from the experts and read all the books but, no matter how much you work at being a conscious parent, you feel like you’re failing.
Slow down.
There’s another way. You can move from the constant struggle of trying to control your child’s behavior, to a more connected, loving relationship and a calmer home.
Parenting Paused is an 8-week parenting course that will get you where you want to be. You’ll learn to release control and create an emotionally safe home where everyone will feel seen, heard, cared for, and connected — including YOU.
In this course you’ll discover and learn how to apply the foundations of Purejoy Parenting, including the transformational SacredSeat and SafeSeat practices."

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Children Course
8 sessions of individual counseling for children ages 8-18 struggling with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, post traumatic stress syndrome, emotional reactivity, and/or negative thought patterns.
The general idea of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected. This interconnected cycle usually starts with our thoughts, which then impact our feelings, which then impact our behaviors. Often our behaviors reinforce our thoughts. Each of us can choose to make this a positive cycle, or we can choose to allow it to be a negative cycle. This is a universal human challenge because our brains are programmed to keep us safe from harm which often causes our brains to default to negative. Negative thoughts often trigger negative emotions and behaviors. When we pause to process our thoughts, we may notice some patterns in the way we think. Noticing these patterns can help us change the way that we react to certain situations. These Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Courses will support you in doing just that.
